Job Announcement

Position:                      Program Director, Coventry Court Apartments, Tustin, CA                                

Type:                            Non-exempt, 20 hours per week

Compensation:            $20.00 – $23.00 per hour

EngAGE is looking for a creative and enthusiastic individual, with strong communication and social skills to build community and deliver programs in a mixed income independent living, housing community in Tustin, California. Using EngAGE’s whole person approach to creative living, the Program Director will facilitate and oversee programs in health and wellness, lifelong learning, the arts, including intergenerational programs and community building. This position is responsible for managing the Annual/Monthly Program budget.  Reporting to the DOS, the Program Director will collaborate with on-site staff at the housing community, and be part of EngAGE’s national team of Program Directors.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 a.       Meets regularly with the residents, the other onsite service providers, and community partners and collaborators to ensure that programming meets the needs and interests of the residents, as well as ensure optimum participation. 

b.      Surveys interests of community generated by both EngAGE and owner

c.       Conducts focus groups / Supports Resident Committees

d.      Creates and advertises monthly program calendar and events

e.       Organizes community building events / celebrations / intergenerational programs

f.        Facilitates/delivers on site day and evening programming to residents

g.      Partners with community organizations 

h.      Provides residents with information about available services in the community

i.        Assist residents to access services through referral and advocacy 

j.        Assess and convey potential “light” case management needs

k.      Manage the teaching staff, teaching artists, and resident and other volunteers

l.        Generate and submits monthly class/program/event and attendance reports on both EngAGE and owner reporting platforms

m.    Fiscal responsibility in managing the monthly program budget, reconcile credit card expenditures, and manage IC documentation

 n.      Attend staff meetings as required

o.      Collaborates with property management and service delivery providers for optimal programming and delivery of services

p.      Completion of Annual Trainings as requested by owner.

 Qualifications

•       Highschool diploma with a college degree a plus

•       Outgoing, team player, with optimistic outlook and good judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable and with flexibility to function well in a dynamic environment

 Experience

•                                 Working with and programming for working families, older adults and youth

•                                 Knowledge of local nonprofit sector and arts organizations helpful

•                                 Interest and experience in the Arts

 Requirements

·         Current valid California driver’s license, good driving record, comprehensive auto insurance

·         Must be a CA resident.

 Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)

·         Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment. EngAGE, Inc. does not sponsor employment visas, such as H-1B.
